Orbit Builder

Build a solar system. Twelve orbit puzzles, no collisions.

About Orbit Builder

Play Orbit Builder, a free space puzzle for World Space Week or any day. Arrange planets, adjust their paths and solve twelve collision-free orbit challenges.

How to play Orbit Builder

Arrange each numbered planet using its orbit, starting position and speed. Test the system for twelve simulated seconds without a collision. Planets need space even when they share an orbit. Gray moons have locked paths; avoid them too. Complete twelve levels with fewer available orbits and more planets. This is a timing puzzle with scripted circular paths, not a gravity simulation.

A space puzzle for World Space Week 2026

World Space Week takes place October 4–10, and the 2026 theme is Rocket Revolution. Orbit Builder offers a hands-on timing puzzle for a space-themed break: position your planets, change their speeds, and see whether they can share a system without colliding. The circular paths are deliberately simplified; this is a puzzle about timing and spacing, not a model of gravity.

Tips for your next attempt

Start by spreading planets across different orbits. When a level limits you to one orbit, equal speeds preserve the gaps between planets. Change one setting at a time so you can see why a test succeeds or fails.

A familiar game, a quick refresher.

  1. Build the four foundations. Place aces in the top-right spaces, then build up to kings in the same suit.
  2. Alternate colors on the table. Place a red 6 on a black 7, for example. You can move an entire face-up sequence.
  3. Make room for kings. Only a king, or a sequence starting with one, can move to an empty column.
  4. Turn over a new card. Click the face-down deck. When it runs out, click again to recycle. You can go through it as often as you like.

Keyboard: Tab to a card and press Enter to select it. Tab to the destination and press Enter again. Escape clears your selection. You can also drag cards.

Deals are random; some cannot be won. Hints suggest legal moves, not a guaranteed solution.
